Abstract

E-waste contains toxic materials which require a special treatment for avoiding environmental pollution and accumulation of harmful substances in human body. According to BTRC there are 173.357 million mobile phone subscribers up to February 2021 in Bangladesh. Among all ICT appliances mobile phone has shortest average lifespan of 2 years. Due to increasing availability of e-services in public and private sector, the use of computer and laptop and internet is growing hurriedly during covid-19. Although Bangladesh has policies and instructions to develop ICT, there are no proper instructions and guidelines for management of the waste of technology. If government doesn’t take proper initiatives to control e-waste the toxic substances of these technological appliances spread over everywhere and pollute the environment, the development project of Digital Bangladesh turns into in development hazard. The aim of this paper was to identify the factors influencing towards the e-waste management system in Bangladesh. Through analyzing 250 questionnaires by SmartPLS software, we documented a positive relationship (p 0.05) between price and e-waste management system in Bangladesh.   • Md. Tariqul Islam, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, FBA, Patuakhali Science and Technology University, Bangladesh

    Mr. Md. Tariqul Islam has received BBA and MBA major in Management Information Systems (MIS) from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2012 and 2013 respectively. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, Faculty of Business Administration, Patuakhali Science and Technology University, Dumki, Patuakhali, Bangladesh since December 2018 where he was a Lecturer before that. Before, he joined in Patuakhali Science and Technology University he was also a Lecturer in BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology, Uttara, Dhaka, Bangladesh. His major research interests are in the fields of technology adoption, digital economy, e-business and so on. Mr. Islam has published about 12 peer reviewed articles and conference papers.

  • Jaynal Ud-din Ahmed, Professor, Department of Management, North-Eastern Hill University, Tura Campus, India.

    Mr. Jaynal Ud-din Ahmed, completed his M. Com (Accounting & Finance), Ph.D and a Master’s degree in Law (LL.M). He has completed successfully four major research projects - one from UGC and three from ICSSR, New Delhi. Prof. Ahmed has published around four dozen research papers in international and referred journals besides eleven number of research-based books. He has also edited eleven number of books to his credit. As a part of his academic hobby, Dr. Ahmed organized a number of seminars, symposium, workshop, refresher courses, MDP and EDP. He is actively involved in supervision of doctoral level theses and guided nine number of Ph.D dissertations. He has presented research papers and has delivered lectures as resource person in various international, national and regional level seminars and conferences. Prof. Ahmed is the Chairman of North Eastern Management Association and Fonder Chief Editor of International Journal of Applied Management Research. He is devotedly involved in various socio-economic and research institutions in India and abroad. He is member of various academic and professional bodies. He is actively engaged in teaching and research for over eighteen years. He has worked as various administrative capacities of the university throughout his carrier. Prof. Ahmed visited many countries for his academic pursuit. At present, he is holding the position of Professor in the Department of Management at North-Eastern Hill University, Tura Campus, Meghalaya, India.

    Dilruba Koli is currently pursuing Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the State University of Albany, New York. She has received Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the State University of New York at Cobleskill, NY in May 2018. She was also an associate in science, Business Administration of Hudson Valley Community College, Troy, New York. Her relevant course works are International Business, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management, Business Communication, Statistics, Micro Economics, Business Law 1 & 2, Business Ethics and Business Management.
